Every child of the Noughties is sure to look back fondly on The OC, which is still one of the ultimate teen dramas OF ALL TIME.
Don't @ us Dawson's Creek fans.
And now it's easier than ever to binge-watch the angst-ridden and yet quick-witted series as ALL FOUR SEASONS are now available on the RTÉ Player. This is music to our ears, quite frankly.
Since it's been over a decade since the show ended (where has the time gone, honestly?), we've rounded up some of the show's best moments which you may or may not remember.
It goes without saying that it's time to binge-watch either way.
Ryan and Seth meet for the first time and become instant pals
Where it all began! That moment when Ryan and Seth met for the first time and a true bromance was born never fails to give us the feels.
The moment when Seth declares his love for Summer and they kiss in front of the whole school
Self confessed "emo geek" Seth Cohen sure knows his way around a grand gesture. It doesn't get any better than climbing up on top of a table in the middle of school and demanding your love interest "acknowledge me now or lose me forever."
Ryan rushes to get to Marissa before the clock strikes 12...
The drama doesn't get much better than this. Lovebirds Ryan and Marissa had a big fight after he blurted out "thank you" when she told him that she loved him. Ouch. Ryan obviously realised the error of his ways pretty sharpish, and rushed to be at her side on New Year's Eve. Great use of the song Dice by Finley Quaye, which we're pretty sure everyone had on repeat on their MP3 players after this iconic moment.
It's not Christmas, it's not Hannakuh, it's Christmukkah!
That time when Christmas and Hannakuh was combined and we all fell in love with Seth all over again. Sigh.
An unknown Chris Pratt cameo'd in season four and sang a song about polar bears
Look at how baby faced he is! Pre-Parks and Recreation Chris Pratt made a very memorable cameo in the fourth season as Che, an environmentalist who makes Seth very uncomfortable by performing a song about polar bears in the nip. You could just tell he had that star quality!
Seth and Summer slow-dance to Wonderwall
Why must The OC play with our emotions like this! On the one hand, we have Seth and Summer romantically slow-dancing to a haunting cover of Oasis's Wonderwall, while on the other we have to bear witness to a devastating argument between Ryan and Marissa, who can't work out their trust issues. It's honestly a bit hard to take.
Bell X1 on the soundtrack
On top of delivering some top-notch melodrama, The OC was also brilliant at introducing its audience to emerging indie bands. The soundtrack was superb, and memorably featured Irish band Bell X1 on two occasions with In Every Sunflower and Eve, The Apple of My Eye. Irish rockers The Thrills also appeared in an episode in season two, keep an eye out!
Marissa gets held at gun-point by Oliver
As well as all the thrills and spills of young love, some of the best moments from The OC derived from the high-stakes drama. Who can forget when Oliver held Marissa at gunpoint? Of course it was up to Ryan to save the day with a brilliant speech. Whatta guy.
The first season finale plays out to the tune of Hallelujah
Hearing Jeff Buckley's Hallelujah never fails to give us the chills, and the song was deployed so expertly in the season one finale it cemented the show as a classic in our minds and heart. Feast your eyes on this beautiful montage as Ryan heads back to Chino, Marissa hits the bottle and Seth sails away into the open sea... Sob!
When Seth and Summer said 'I do'
The season four finale was the finale to end all finales. I mean talk about giving us the ending to the show we needed. Seeing Summer walk down the aisle and playfully stick out her tongue to Seth was just the cutest.
Thanks, The OC. Love you foreva!
The full box set of all four series of The OC are available on RTÉ Player in the Republic of Ireland until November on desktop, mobile and Connected TV devices.
