The first trailer for the second season of critically acclaimed comedy series Derry Girls is set to air in the coming months and the first promo trailer for the show reveals that things haven’t changed much with the mischief making gang.
Lisa McGee’s show is set in Derry in the mid-nineties and follows the exploits of a group of schoolgirls and their families. Over three million people watched the pilot episode of the series on Channel 4 and the network commissioned a second series after the first episode was broadcast in January last year.
In the new clip the Catholic schoolgirls (and cousin James) are seen meeting up with some Protestant schoolboys on a school trip.
We also see a series of classic ’90s scenarios. including a trip to see Take That (or "This and That" according to Michelle's mother) and a retro disco.
The Cranberries’ song Dreams, which opened every episode of the show’s first season, is also back.
A broadcast date for the new series is yet to be announced.
Fans have been reacting to the new clip on Twitter.
