Station 19

Shonda Rhimes' Station 19 is back, the highly anticipated Das Boot sequel begins on Sky Atlantic, while Sonya Lennon returns to telly with her new series, Strictly Business . . .

Pick of the Day

Station 19, 10.00pm, Sky Witness & NOW TV

Shonda Rhimes’ hit firefighting drama and spin-off from Grey's Anatomy, returns for a second season.

It's an increasingly crowded genre, but despite Rhimes' magic touch, this show comes in a poor third to red lorry rivals rivals Chicago Fire and 9-1-1. Still very watchable though.

Following the first run’s explosive cliffhanger ending, the fate of several crew members remains unknown. As they continue to battle the inferno in the skyscraper, injured members of the team are taken to Grey Sloan hospital to receive medical help from some familiar faces.

Meanwhile, as a new firefighter with a shady past arrives, the future of the station has never been more uncertain.

Meanwhile, the young crew of U-boat U-612 prepare for their maiden voyage. New Captain Klaus Hoffman, following in his famous father's footsteps, takes the helm. But tensions simmer between him and members of the crew who feel passed over.

Sonya Lennon's new show follows the fortunes of six small Irish businesses as they endeavour to make it on the local and ultimately global stage.

They won’t be alone in their quests as Sonya will use her commercial know-how, experience as a business mentor and enviable contacts book to point these companies in the right direction.

Another season of the historical drama filmed in Ireland comes to an end, with a double bill.

Don't Miss

Pure, 10.ppm, Channel 4

They really should've called this The Sexed Sense, especially given that the central character's Scottish.

Last week's opening episode was quite eye-catching, as the dramedy about Marnie - a 24-year-old woman who has a form of OCD called Pure O - revolves around her constantly thinking about and mentally seeing others involved in all sorts of sexual activity.

In episode two, Marnie hits another dead end when she goes to a sex addicts meeting, but it still doesn't explain what's wrong with her. Things start to look up when she finds an unexpected kindred spirit in recovering porn addict Charlie, played by Joe Cole.

The entire season's episodes are available to binge watch on All4.
