The movie Utøya's opening scene - Norwegian TV has made a six-part drama series about the response of ordinary Norwegians to the atrocity.

A new Norwegian drama, 22 July, tells the story of how ordinary members of the public responded to Anders Behring Breivik's 2011 killing of 77 people, most of them teenagers on the island of Utøya.

This follows the chilling movie Utøya: July 22 which was shown at the IFI last year and is not to be confused with Paul Greengrass's equally disturbing Netflix movie on the shooting. That too shares the same name, 22 July, albeit it is an English language film.

As reported by Variety, the first footage of the six-part show was screened last week at the Goteburg Film Festival in Sweden, and international viewing rights to the project have been sold.

Terrorist Anders Behring Breivik killed eight people after he planted a car bomb in Oslo’s government district.

He then drove to the port for the nearby island of Utøya, where youth members of the Norwegian Labour Party were enjoying a weekend of relaxation at a summer camp. After travelling across by ferry, he murdered 69 young people there by tracking them down as they tried to run to forest areas and escape by water.
