Westlife miss out on Number One with comeback single

Westlife: hot air fails to raise them up to the top

Westlife have been denied the Irish Number One spot with their comeback single Hello My Love by Ava Max’s runaway hit Sweet But Psycho keeping its place at the top for a fifth week.

Weslife built up enough sales and streams to debut at Number 67 on last week’s chart but ended up with just 39 combined sales behind Max.

Ava Max: still sitting pretty at Number One

Hello My Love is Westlife’s 26th Top 10 hit and their first in over eight years; their last was 2010’s Safe, which peaked at Number 4.

Right behind Westlife is Halsey, who rebounds two places to Number 3 after a remix of Without Me was released featuring Juice WRLD.

Also on this week’s Official Irish chart, Sam Smith and Normani claim the highest new entry with Dancing With A Stranger, new at Number 8, and Khalid’s Saturday Nights jumps six spots to break into the Top 10 at Number 9, boosted by a new remix with country singer Kane Brown.

No surprises over on the grown up charts as The Greatest Showman soundtrack marks its 19th non-consecutive week at Number 1.

Elsewhere, there are gains for The 1975 this week following arena shows in Belfast and Dublin last week. Their latest set A Brief Enquiry Into Online Relationships climbs eight places to Number 10.

The Cranberries’ greatest hits Dreams - The Collection rises 11 spots to 18 after the release of their new single All Over Now, featuring the late Dolores O’Riordan, and Westlife’s Greatest Hits released in 2011 vaults 52 rungs to 28 following the success of their comeback single Hello My Love.
