EastEnders has announced that Robert Kazinsky is to reprise his role as Albert Square rogue Sean Slater after a decade away from the BBC soap, with the actor saying "social awareness" is at the centre of his new storyline.
Kazinsky, who made Hollywood his home after leaving the BBC show, will be back on screens for a brief time in the Spring as viewers learn more about the past of his troubled character, the brother of EastEnders' favourite Stacey (played by Lacey Turner).
He described EastEnders as "still the most important serial on British television, never afraid to combat hard storylines and tell hard truths".

"I have always been proud of what EastEnders has done for social awareness throughout my lifetime and that is why I'm back," he continued.
"To tell a story that means something to me with the family that I know can tell it right.
"I can't wait to see my Slaters again and see what's in store for Sean as he brings an evolved animal to Albert Square."

"I'm beyond delighted to see Rob back in Albert Square and back at the heart of the Slater family," said EastEnders producer Kate Oates.
"As an actor, Rob created a modern EastEnders icon in Sean."
EastEnders airs on RTÉ One and BBC One on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
