Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Giovanni Pernice has confirmed his romance with Ashley Roberts.
In the recent run of the BBC show he partnered Steps singer Faye Tozer, but he had been linked with former Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts, who had partnered Pasha Kovalev.
Pernice and Roberts were rumoured to have spent Christmas together in Florida, and the dancer confirmed that they had been there for New Year's too, with co-star Aljaz Skorjanec in tow.
Strictly romance has been blossoming off the dancefloor. ??@pernicegiovann1 confirms his relationship with @ImAshleyRoberts and @gorkamarquez1 has some lovely words of thanks to the show for bringing him and @MissGAtkinson together.— Lorraine (@lorraine) January 14, 2019
He was a guest on ITV’s morning show Lorraine alongside Skorjanec and another Strictly dancer, Gorka Marquez, where they all spoke about how the show had contributed to their love lives.
Talking about the Strictly live tour, Pernice said: "I’m dancing with Faye, Ashley’s dancing with Pasha."
To which host Lorraine Kelly responded: "But you’re going out with Ashley?"
He replied: "Different things. I’m dancing with Faye, and with Ashley it’s different."
Skorjanec then joked: "Different tour," as the three dancers laughed.
Lorraine also asked whether they had been away together in Florida at Christmas and Pernice acknowledged the trip, adding that Skorjanec had been there too.
He also admitted that they had away for more than just Christmas, saying: "It’s always lovely to be in Florida for Christmas and New Year. It’s a bit odd though, because normally Santa comes on a sleigh, not on a surf board."
Pernice also defended Roberts when Lorraine asked him about the backlash she had endured from the show’s fans for having lots of dance experience and the advantage it gave her.
He said: "That’s the thing, every single year, even with my partner Faye and Debbie McGee last year. Every single year people talk about experience, but it’s completely different, they’ve never danced ballroom or Latin before.
"They really put 100% commitment into the show, that’s the most important thing."
