Dancing on Ice contestant Gemma Collins put in an impressive debut on the show just hours after a "massive fall".

The reality TV star had said she needed "a miracle" after falling just a couple of hours ahead of the first episode of the new series.

She had been posting videos to her Instagram stories throughout the day, describing how "petrified" she felt, saying: "I've never been this nervous".

The Only Way Is Essex star posted a update from what appeared to be a treatment room backstage.

She said: "Guys, I've had a massive fall while in rehearsals, we escaped the ambulance this time.

"I'm gonna need a miracle tonight."

Collins, who is skating with Matt Evers on the ITV show, put the fall behind her and delivered an impressive routine which included a series of dance moves, jumps and the splits to Beyonce's Crazy In Love.

After the routine, she said: "I just loved it!"

The pair earned a total of 16 out of 40 points for the performance and judge Ashley Banjo called the star a "ledge".

Twelve new contestants are battling it out to win the ice-skating show this year.

Six skated on Sunday and the remaining hopefuls will perform next week, including Irish singer Brian McFadden.

Dancing on Ice airs on Virgin Media One on Sunday nights.
