Singer Ariana Grande has told her fans she is planning to say single "for the rest of this year / probably my life".

The 25-year-old had a traumatic 2018 following the death of her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller and the ending of her engagement to comedian Pete Davidson after seven months together.

She said on Twitter she was planning to stay single after a fan posted an article titled, "Who is Ariana dating now?!".

In her reply, Grande said she was giving fans a "spoiler for the rest of this year / probably my life: it's no one. please refer back to this tweet for future questions".

She also thanked fans for their support, writing: "my timeline is beautiful rn [right now]. proud of u all and the human beings you're growing into. happy nye ! continue to take care of / celebrate each other the way you always do. happy to know u thru the internet & have u in my life. our relationship is real and important to me. love u."

Grande will play sold-out shows at Dublin's 3Arena as part of her Sweetener World Tour on Sunday September 22 and Monday September 23.
