Singer Iggy Azalea has revealed she's 'worn down' by criticism she received over her backing dancer's seizure during a recent gig.

The 28-year-old Australian rapper was in the middle of a performance in Rio de Janeiro on Thursday when one of her dancers collapsed and had a seizure on-stage. Unaware of the severity of the incident, Azalea continued to perform which attracted criticism.

On Friday morning, the musician addressed the backlash via her Instagram Stories, stating: "Sometimes I really feel exhausted by the world.

"It feels like ANY thing I do becomes an opportunity for people to tell me why I’m sh*t, why my music sucks, my clothes are ugly, why I don’t matter or why I’m a horrible person."

"I’m worn down".

She added: "The last 4 years are just me existing in a world where I can do nothing right and it’s hard not to feel like 'what’s the point' and keep motivated.

"Everyone is just trying to make it through their day. Could we be a little kinder to each other?"

Azalea concluded: "Seeing how much people enjoy being awful to one another is depressing."

The post came hours after she defended herself for going on with the performance, explaining how she thought the dancer had simply fallen or twisted her ankle.

Taking to social media shortly after the incident, she wrote: "Just want to let everyone asking know my dancer is OKAY! The light & heat caused her to have a seizure. She is backstage feeling much better."

She conceded it "may sound harsh" but you "keep singing until the music stops and ask for a medic which is what I did. We are all really shaken up by what happened & just thankful she is okay."
