Tom Hanks has led the tributes to the late actress and director Penny Marshall, who died on Monday night at the age of 75.
Hanks, who starred in the Marshall-directed Big, tweeted his respects saying, "Goodbye, Penny. Man, did we laugh a lot! Wish we still could. Love you. Hanx."

Russell Crowe paid tribute to the star saying, "She was kind, she was crazy, so talented and she loved movies."

The Simpsons' executive producer and writer Al Jean shared a still from an old episode of the series, which was voiced by Marshall, naming her as their first guest star.
