Acclaimed Bristol band Idles will play Dublin’s Iveagh Gardens on July 11 2019, following their sold-out gigs in the Button Factory last October and a forthcoming show in Vicar Street this April.

The announcement follows news that Garbage will also play the 4,000-capacity city centre venue on July 18.

Tickets for Idles at Iveagh Gardens are priced €35.00 and go on sale this Thursday, December 20 at 9.00am at all usual Ticketmaster outlets nationwide. Support acts to be announced.

Idles’s second album Joy as an Act of Resistance was released last August and has become one of the most acclaimed records of the year, featuring prominently in many end of year round-ups.

The band formed in 2012 and following a number of well-received EPs, released their debut album Brutalism in 2017.

A powerful live act, the band combine punk fury with politically-charged and Joe Talbot's blackly humorous lyrics dealing with racism, sexism and injustice.

The band have already built up a strong following in Ireland and have gone from gigs in front of 500 people to a 4,000 capacity venue in six months.
