Fair City on Thursday night sees a moment of passion between exes Carol and Robbie, with stars Aisling O'Neill and Karl Shiels speaking about the unbreakable ties between their characters.
On tonight's episode, when Hayley (Rebecca Grimes) tells Carol that she's planning on going away with Robbie for Christmas, Carol snaps at her that she will never be enough for him.
Robbie gets between the two women and breaks things up, but Carol lays into him for telling Hayley about Trigger. The tension of their argument turns to passion when Robbie kisses Carol, and Carol admits that no one will ever come close to him in her eyes.
Speaking about Carol and Robbie getting together, Aisling O'Neill said, "There's a tie between them so they fight really hard but they have this tie between them that they can't break, but it's nearly toxic, it's bad for them."
"They'll always be there for each other, they'll always have each other, they totally love each other, that's the one thing," Karl Shiels added.
O'Neill spoke about how Fair City viewers just want Carol to be happy, saying, "They want her to catch a break, she's had such bad luck with men, with her father, with abuse, and she just always gets back up again and fights another day.
"Then when she met Robbie, he was edgy but he wasn't a gangster, he was her equal. She doesn't want to be on the bad side of love, but at the same time she doesn't want a fella whose putting on his slippers at night either.
"So I think that draw that they had was something the viewers loved to watch."
