Neighbours star Alan Dale is to reprise his role as Jim Robinson this Christmas - 25 years after the character died of a heart attack.
Dale, who departed the soap following a pay row, told The Mirror that his return had "laid a load of ghosts to rest for me".
There is speculation that Neighbours fans will see Jim reunited with screen son Paul (Stefan Dennis) in a dream sequence or as a 'Ghost of Christmas Past'.

"How can I be back?" asked the actor. "I wouldn't want to spoil the surprise so I'm not going to say much except I was thrilled to be there! I am working with my dear old friend Stefan.
"It's fun, I hope everyone’s going to enjoy it."
Since leaving Neighbours in 1993, New Zealand-born Dale has appeared in many US television shows including Lost, NCIS, Entourage, Ugly Betty, 24, The West Wing, ER and The X-Files.
His film credits include Entourage, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and Star Trek: Nemesis.
Neighbours airs on RTÉ One weekdays at 1:30pm, and on RTÉ2 at 6:00pm.
