Marsh told OK! magazine: "We’re over the moon. It makes me feel so emotional that my baby is having a baby of her own."
The actress, who has played Michelle Connor on Coronation Street since 2006, said she's excited to become a grandmother, although that isn't a word she'll be using.
"I'm looking forward to being a young grandmother. I've always looked forward to having grandchildren.
"Although I’m not relishing being called Grandma, so I’ve been researching alternative names."
Marsh, who welcomed her first child at the age of 18, said: "I know what it's like to be young and pregnant – it's scary, but Emilie will be a great mum."
"I’ve warned her that it’s going to be hard work but I’ve also said there are a lot of positives to being a young mum", she added.
Emilie, who appeared as a contestant on The Voice UK in 2015, said her mum was with her when she took her pregnancy test.
"When I saw it was positive I started crying my eyes out I was so overwhelmed", she said.
The full interview appears in this week's OK! magazine.
