TV presenter Holly Willoughby teams up with regular host Declan Donnelly to launch the celebrity survival challenge series I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! which begins tonight.

The 10 doughty camp inhabitants this year are actor John Barrowman, football supremo Harry Redknapp, actress Emily Atack, singer Fleur East and Anne Hegerty, the strict governess in The Chase TV series.

Also braving the worst that can be flung at them by way of insect life and all manner of flora and fauna are  Coronation Street star Saira Khan and TV presenter Nick Knowles (Who Dares Wins, Break the Safe, 5-Star Family Reunion.)

Also going boldly etc are The Vamps guitarist James McVey and actor Malique Thompson-Dwyer who has been playing Prince McQueen on Hollyoaks for the last two years.

Former EastEnders actress Rita Simons will also be taking on all challenges. There have been ongoing rumours that Noel Edmonds might make an 11th candidate.

"I couldn’t be more excited to have been asked to stand alongside Dec for the next jungle adventure, " Willoughby declared last August when her name was announced as replacement host on the hugely popular series.

"I love Ant (McPartlin) and want to send him my best wishes and support for a continued recovery." McPartlin is stepping down as host this year. In September he revealed he had been six months sober following treatment for alcohol addiction. The popular presenter had been fined and banned from driving last April  following a drink driving guilty plea.

Declan Donnelly will be presenting the series without McPartlin for the first time. "Whilst I am obviously sad at the thought of being without my best friend in Australia this year, I am proud of the work Ant has been doing privately and I am fully supportive of his decision."

"I’m looking forward to us both being reunited on screen in 2019."

The 2017 series was the most-watched programme on ITV last year, gaining an audience share of 46% with a peak of 11.2 million viewers tuning in. According to Digital Spy, The X Factor had been attracting around five million during the same period.

I'm A Celebrity ...Get Me Out of Here! begins at 9 pm on Virgin Media One and UTV.
