Elton John has announced new 2020 dates in Dublin and Belfast as part of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour, with tickets going on sale on Friday November 16 at 10:00am.

The music legend, who is scheduled to play sold-out shows at Dublin's 3Arena in June 2019, will now return to play Belfast's SSE Arena on November 30, 2020 and the 3Arena on December 4, 2020.

John has said of his swansong tour: "The Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour will take us to many places that have meant a lot to me over the last 50 years.

"To celebrate some of the incredible moments we've shared with my fans over the years will be wonderful. These shows will be very emotional, and a lot of fun."

Recently, John's veteran guitarist and musical director Davey Johnstone said he had a "sneaking feeling" that the star will not retire at the close of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.

"I know that when we finish this three-year monster we'll be done with touring," Johnstone told Billboard. "But at the same time there's a sneaking feeling there might be a one-off here and there that we'll play. We'll do a festival or we'll do this or that."
