The Podge & Rodge Show, 10.40pm, RTÉ 2

Should be interesting to see how this returning chat show goes down in these more PC times as Ballydung Manor open its doors once again and the potty-mouthed pair return.

It’s been almost a decade since Podge & Rodge subjected their guests to their rather unique take on interviewing, and some of today's celeb types mightn't realise just what they're in for by appearing on the show.

New to the line-up is co-host Doireann Garrihy, who's an impressionist, comedian and a woman who will have to adjust to Podge & Rodge’s rather acidic take on Irish Life.

New or Returning Shows

My Dinner with Hervé, 9.00pm, Sky Atlantic

Three-time Emmy Award winner Peter Dinklage stars as legendary Bond villain actor Hervé Villechaize in this HBO drama.

Inspired by the real events of one wild night in LA, the film explores the unlikely friendship between struggling journalist Danny Tate (Jamie Dornan) and the world’s most famous dwarf actor, who played the unforgettable knife-wielding bad guy Nick Nack in The Man with The Golden Gun.

The impressive cast also features Mireille Enos as Hervé’s long-time partner, Oona Chaplin as Danny’s girlfriend, and Andy Garcia as Hervé’s Fantasy Island co-star, Ricardo Montalbán.

The Shankill Bombing, 9.00pm, BBC One

Stephen Nolan recounts the events from 1993, when a Provisional IRA bomb in Frizzell's fish shop on Belfast's Shankill Road, killing nine people, including a bomber.

The intended target was the leadership of the UDA, who were to meet in a room above the shop. The meeting had ended early, and the bomb exploded prematurely.

Only Connect, 8.00pm, BBC Two

Victoria Coren Mitchell presents the quiz show about making connections. A team from Lancashire take on three pop music aficionados in the first episode of the show's 14th run.

Supergirl, 8.00pm, Sky One

There are new characters and new twists as Supergirl flies back for a fourth season and the show makes history as Nicole Maines stars as Kara’s CatCo protegé Dreamer, TV’s first ever transgender superhero.

Things get political as Star Trek’s Brent Spiner joins as vice president to Lynda Carter and expect to see more of Brainiac 5 as Jesse Rath becomes a show regular.

Queen of the World, 10.00pm, Virgin Media One

Here's yet another look at the UK royal family, this time offering an insight into Queen Elizabeth II's global role as she passes some of her duties to other royals.

Ending Tonight

Say Yes to the Dress, 9.00pm, RTÉ 2

The bridal consultants are back in Vows for the final time, and Franc and Ciara's first appointment is with Elizabeth Jones who wants to look like a princess on her wedding day.

Later, Sharon Dineen's entourage includes her eldest daughter on Skype from Canada, while Sinead Scully has very set ideas on what she does and doesn't want.

New to Download

Jamestown: Seasons 1-2, Sky Box Sets & NOW TV

This period drama goes back to where the British Empire started, in early 17th-century Virginia, which became home to the first permanent English settlers in America.

Season three of Jamestown is due next year but you can catch up on all the drama so far after Alice (Sophie Rundle), Verity (Niamh Walsh) and Jocelyn (Naomi Battrick) arrive in Jamestown in 1619 with little idea of what the future holds or the disruption their arrival is about to bring to the colony.

Mr Mercedes, 9.30pm, RTÉ 2

Based on the best-selling trilogy by Stephen King, David E Kelly's TV adaptation, returing her for a second series, has Brendan Gleeson in scintillating form as the curmudgeonly retired cop, Bill Hodges.

With Mercedes killer Brady hospitalised, Hodges and Holly decide to open a private investigative agency called Finders Keepers. Brady’s care meanwhile falls to Dr Babineau, an ambitious neurosurgeon, with input from his brilliant wife, Cora.
