Comedian Seann Walsh has apologised after he was photographed kissing his married Strictly Come Dancing professional partner, Katya Jones.

The 32-year-old funnyman and the 29-year-old dancer were spotted kissing last week, despite both having romantic partners.

Walsh, who is dating actress Rebecca Humphries, took Twitter to say sorry for his "one-off drunken mistake" after The Sun published pictures.

He posted: "In light of the story in today’s newspaper I would like to offer my sincere apologies for my actions.

"This is no excuse but it was a one-off drunken mistake which I am truly sorry for."

Jones, who has been married to fellow Strictly dancer Neil Jones since 2013, also opened up about the kiss online, and insisted it wasn't a reflection of her marriage.

"I’m so sorry about any offence or hurt I may have caused with my actions.

"I wasn’t thinking and it was a one-off mistake after some drinks. I love my husband and we are very happy together, this is not a reflection on our relationship."

Good Morning Britain co-host Susanna Reid appeared to defend the kiss between Walsh and Jones on Monday's show, saying that "we've all had a few drinks and had a kiss".

She added: "We've all had a few drinks and had a kiss, haven't we?"

On Saturday, Walsh and Jones left the Strictly judges and viewers stunned with their Paso Doble to the Matrix theme in keeping with Movie Week. They scored a total of 30 points for their themed routine.

Bruno Tonioli told the pair: "I have to say it was so clever, very, very original, you put all of these modern touches to it.

"It was so brilliant and well portrayed, you never lost the power and intensity."

Meanwhile, Craig Revel Horwood claimed the routine was "hot" as he remarked: "Profound, powerful impassioned darling.

"Strong, masculine, and I might even go as far to say hot."

Meanwhile, Darcey Bussell said she couldn’t keep her eyes off the pair as their Paso Doble had her transfixed.

"Yes, there was plenty of power, the intensity, but you had purpose it was so convincing," she began.

"Very creative Katya, a unique Paso. How you used your waist, how you directed, I couldn’t take my eyes off you.
