It's the last episode of James's, Succession and Insecure, while there's a new reality show on TLC called Little Life on the Prairie . . .

Pick of the day

Inside James's, 9.00pm, Virgin Media One

The final episode about Dublin's St James' Hospital features dynamic cardiac surgeon Sarah Early, the only female cardiac surgeon in Ireland.

Despite being eight months pregnant, Sarah is still operating on patients and talks candidly about what it’s like to be a woman in a very male environment.

As for the patients, there's 64-year-old smoker Bob Bevins, who has come into St James’s Hospital to have a tumour removed from his mouth. It’s a challenging operation which will involve two surgeons.

Then there's 20-year-old Bunmi Oyetola, who's been rushed to the Emergency Department. His pain is so severe that he is immediately put on the highest allowable dose of morphine.

Bunmi suffers from a rare blood disease called sickle cell anaemia: his blood cells are curved instead of flat, which can cause acute blockages in his veins and arteries, called a sickle cell crisis.

New or Returning Shows

Living with Lyme Disease, 10.15pm, RTÉ One

As the title clearly indicates, this documentary is about people in Ireland affected by Lyme Disease - something which can be transmitted by a bite of a tick.

The disease - which can cause joint pain and neurological problems - can affect anyone from small children running around a field with tall grass to wildlife wardens, campers, zoologists and biologists to people working in the wild or even strolling in a park.

Here, several sufferers, including the documentary's producer/director James Pembroke, talk about the condition and how it has impacted on their lives.

Lyme patient Jacqui Hurley

Little Life on the Prairie, 8.00pm, TLC

Yet another TLC reality show. This one follows the lives of Lauren and Nate Webnar, and their four-year-old daughter Juniper, who were all born with achondroplasia dwarfism.

The couple are on a journey to expand their brood, but face some challenges as they attempt to get pregnant through IVF.

In the meantime, they already have their hands full trying to run an animal farm in the Arizona countryside after giving up the big-city life in California.

Ending Tonight

Succession, 9.00pm, Sky Atlantic & NOW TV

The season finale of Jesse Armstrong’s acclaimed comic drama about a wealthy-but-toxic family promises to be superb, as this show just gets better and better with each acidic episode. It's so reassuring to see these awful characters all leading miserable lives.

Anyway, with the revelry surrounding Tom and Shiv’s wedding in England hitting peak hedonism, Logan and his team find themselves in defence mode as word of the Waystar takeover bid spreads.

Kendall finds an escape outlet as the situation becomes supercharged, while Tom channels his new wife’s candour into the removal of an unwanted guest.

Don't Miss

No Offence, 9.00pm, Channel 4

Paul Abbott's award-winning anarchic cop drama (featuring our own Elaine Cassidy) continues and this third season's possibly the best so far.

The team has lost Beckett by a hair's breadth - but they have gained a potentially priceless opportunity. With Bonnie (Tamara Lawrance) and Dennis (Neil Maskell) in the station, Viv (Joanna Scanlan) and the team have 48 hours to get Dennis to betray his best friend and turn police informant.
