New or Returning Shows

Sick of It, 10.00pm, Sky 1 & NOW TV

In this new series Karl Pilkington plays Karl, a crotchety cabbie who’s living with his Auntie Norma while trying to get over the loss of his long-term girlfriend.

As he muddles through life, his closest mate is the voice in his head, an uncensored version of himself who just won’t shut up. He imparts his wisdom, deals out criticism and shares his rather unorthodox philosophy on life – counsel that often lands Karl in trouble.

In episode one, Karl and Norma are holding a wake at the house for Karl's uncle, when a new sofa arrives.

Wonderdate, 9.45pm, BBC Two

A filmed offshoot of Tim Key's stage show Megadate, this is a tale of a boy dazzling a girl with the perfect first date and then having his dreams hosed down by reality as he retraces his steps.

His quest is to find a missing hat, but the bigger problem is her radio silence. In spite of myriad texts from him, nothing is coming the other way. His path is riddled with cynics and naysayers, questioning his optimistic outlook on how the date went.

Ending Tonight

The Mighty Redcar, 9.00pm, BBC Two

In the final episode of the series, we meet the Tates, a well-known local family from Redcar, seaside resort and town in North Yorkshire.

The youngest of the family, Billy, is about to make a tough decision: does he start a career at 16 or go to college? Against his dad Andy’s wishes, Billy decides that the world of work, with the chance to earn money, is a far better option.
