Winning Streak duo Marty Whelan and Sinead Kennedy are returning for the latest season of the game show on Saturday night, and the much-loved presenters said they "long for" the contestants to win big.
The National Lottery game show, now in its 29th year, is making a welcome return to RTÉ One on Saturday nights with an exciting new look, new set and lots more prizes for the lucky players.
Speaking to RTÉ Entertainment, presenters Marty Whelan and Sinead Kennedy said their favourite aspect of hosting the show is "that it's about real people having the chance to have a potentially life changing moment on TV.
"We long for them to have it too", they added.
The presenting duo have been co-hosting the game show for six years which means they know each other's style inside out at this stage.
However, the key element of their on-screen success lies in the fact that they get along.
"We do know each other's style but more importantly we get on so well", they said. "That's an element you can't force on TV.
"The viewer will see it and it's no use. We have fun and want the players to enjoy the experience too."
And what can viewers expect from the new season of the show?
"New games, more money and more bulbs than you'd find in a decent garden centre!", they joked.
Winning Streak first appeared on Irish TV screens in September 1990, and since then 5,975 people have taken part, winning in excess of €170 million in prizes. More than €5 million was won last season.
Winning Streak returns to RTÉ One on Saturday nights at 8.15pm.
