It's Ploughing time again, there's a new reality show called The Circle, while the Champions League group stage takes off . . .

Pick of the day

Ploughing Live, 7.00pm, RTÉ One

Presented by Marty Morrissey and Aine Lawlor, the three-part trip once again comes live from Europe's biggest outdoor event, the National Ploughing Championships in Tullamore, county Offaly.

As part of its coverage of The Ploughing Championship 2018, RTÉ is once again airing a half-hour live show on each of the event’s three nights, today, Wednesday and Thursday.

Last year, lots of famous faces took part in The Plough and the Stars, a celebrity ploughing challenge. This year they’ll be invited to try their hand at Tractor Balancing, where they’ll have to drive a tractor onto an oversized see-saw and hold it steady, without tipping, for three seconds.

New or Returning Shows

The Circle, 9.15pm, Channel 4

Presenters Alice Levine and Maya Jama launch a brand new reality show, where players can only communicate and compete against each other through a specially-designed, voice-activated social media platform called The Circle.

In the first episode, the players make themselves at home in their individual apartments, before getting started on creating their brand new profiles. It's not easy as it may seem.

The wrong choice of profile picture, for example, could see them judged unfavourably, which is every player's nightmare in this exciting new online popularity contest in which the contestants are playing to win up to £50k.

The second episode is on tomorrow at 10.00pm.

Constantine, 9.00pm, FOX

NBC’s short-lived DC drama Constantine gets to make its debut on this side of the Atlantic. It lasted just 13 episodes before getting axed due to poor viewing figures.

Constantine follows John Constantine (Matt Ryan). A self-proclaimed exorcist and master of the dark arts, this irreverent con-man doesn’t come down on the side of either good or evil  - but might be the only thing defending mankind against dark forces.

The Gameshow Serial Killer: Police Tapes, 10.00pm, Virgin Media One

The Game Show Serial Killer is one of Britain's most notorious serial killers, who evaded capture for the horrific murders he committed for more than two decades.

His name is John Cooper, a Welsh labourer, who was convicted in 2011 for the murders of four people in the 1980s. Here's how he was eventually captured.

Ending Tonight

Princess Margaret: The Rebel Royal, 9.00pm, BBC Two
