Halle Berry is to make her directorial debut with a mixed martial arts action-drama called Bruised, and will also take on the lead role.
US entertainment trade publication Deadline, which first reported the story, says the Oscar winner will play a disgraced MMA fighter who is given a chance at redemption when her six-year-old son re-enters her life and she is lined up to fight a rising MMA star.
It is reported that Bruised will see Berry work with the team behind the fight choreography for the John Wick films.
She is currently filming John Wick 3: Parabellum opposite Keanu Reeves.

Bruised is due to go into production next March. John Wick 3 is due for release in May 2019.
