Jenny Dixon, who plays Kerri-Ann in the RTÉ soap Fair City, and Limerick TD Tom Neville have become engaged.
The actress revealed the news on her Instagram account on Wednesday.
She posted a series of photos of them beaming on holidays as she sported her diamond engagement ring along with the caption: "An unbelievably magical day! Crying and smiling!"
She revealed to RTÉ Entertainment she "wasn't expecting it at all".
"I was lost for words!", Dixon said.
"It was beautiful. It’s been a magical few days. I’m very happy!"
The couple has been together since November 2016 and Neville, who has been a Fine Gael TD for Limerick County since 2016, popped the question while they were on holiday in Sorrento, Italy.
Dixon shared numerous photos of their trip to Italy and also shots of her engagement ring. She posted, "My soulmate and best friend and I can’t wait to be your wife."

42-year-old Neville, the son of former Fine Gael TD and party chairman Dan Neville, has worked as a secondary school teacher and in IT Sales and recruitment.
According to his official Fine Gael profile, he has trained professionally as an actor in Sydney.

He made his film debut with Dixon in the movie Full Circle, which was also her feature debut, in 2017. He also acted in a short film called Sleeping Dogs, in which he played what he described as a "slightly villainous character".
