Virgin Media Television was officially launched today, with new channel names and identities going live and replacing the old TV3 stations.
The broadcaster’s three free-to-air channels have been re-branded as Virgin Media One (formerly TV3), Virgin Media Two (formerly 3e) and Virgin Media Three (formerly be3).
Irish highlights of the opening day's schedule include Virgin Media News at 8.00pm, Hutch v Kinahan: Ireland’s Deadliest Feud at 9.00pm and David McWilliams: Back to the Future at 10.00pm. All three feature on Virgin Media One.
The Tonight Show with Matt Cooper and Ivan Yates returns for a new run on Virgin Media One at 11.00pm, while the world TV premiere of Irish feature-length movie A Date for Mad Mary will air on Virgin Media Three at 9.00pm.
Daily studio shows, Ireland AM, Elaine, The Six O’Clock Show all continue on Virgin Media One, while Xposé will be broadcast on its new home on Virgin Media Two from Friday, August 31.
