The Great British Bake Off, 8.00pm, Channel 4

So much for the assumption that a move to Channel 4 and several changes in personnel being a collective kiss of death to this show. It's the contestants who make or bake it.

The white tent awaits 12 of the UK's best amateur bakers, as they face the critical eye of judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith, with Noel Fielding and Sandi Toksvig returning for presenting duties.

Breaking with tradition, this year the series kicks off with Biscuit Week. The bakers tackle signature biscuits that will say something both about them and a place in the British Isles.

First Dates Hotel, 9.15pm, Channel 4

Fred Sirieix and the team return for a new run, as singletons from across the UK check in to the ultimate Latin love hotel deep in the Italian countryside.

This season promises to be the most romantic and sauciest yet as daters of all ages indulge their deepest desires in five-star luxury.

The Joy of Winning, 9.00pm, BBC Four

Dr Hannah Fry goes on a whistle-stop tour around the mathematics of success, to explain how to get more of what we want in our own lives.

When it comes to the game of life a look at the science of winning can apparently help, and reveal some surprising and important truths about ourselves and the world around us.

Ending Tonight

A Passage to Britain, 9.00pm, BBC Two

Dr Yasmin Khan returns to the passenger lists to unearth the stories of those travelling on the great ocean liner the Batory, in the 1950s.

The Batory's passengers were part of this wave of arrivals, coming to seek their fortunes and they were to change the country in ways no one had predicted.

The Wedding Guru, 10.00pm, BBC Two

It's the final part of this documentary series following Wales's self-styled 'greatest wedding planner' Onkar Singh Purewal.

Onkar is launching his Wedding Guru brand on the world - which calls for an image overhaul ahead of his first appearance at Britain's biggest Asian Wedding Fair.
