New or Returning Shows

Naked Attraction, 10.00pm Friday, Channel 4

Back for a third season, the (frankly daft) dating show that dares to bare all returns - and this time it's promising to be even more revealing.

In this episode, 20-year-old virgin Josh is hoping to find a fairytale princess, while couple Matt and Mary are interested in exploring the possibilities of polyamory and finding a third person to join their relationship.

Here are a couple of lads admiring each other's appendages:

BBC Proms: Bernstein on the Town, 7.30pm Saturday, BBC Four

On what would have been Leonard Bernstein's 100th birthday, and launching a UK bank-holiday Bernstein weekend at the Proms, John Wilson returns to conduct his second Bernstein musical of the season.

Following the adventures of three sailors on shore leave in New York City in 1944, On the Town was an instant Broadway hit, featuring classic songs including New York, New York and Lonely Town.

Here's the opening song from the Hollywood version of On the Town:

The Ganges with Sue Perkins, 8.25pm Sunday, RTÉ2

Sue Perkins goes on an extraordinary journey, spanning over 1,500 miles, from the source of the Ganges high in the Himalayas to the Bay of Bengal.

In this first episode, she begins her journey in the highest mountains on earth, treks to the source of the Ganges river and pokes her nose into the lives of hermits and the wise and wandering holy people that call this sacred landscape home.

Ending this Weekend

Francis Brennan's Grand Tour, 8.30pm Sunday, RTÉ One

Francis Brennan and his fellow travellers prepare to say goodbye as they leave South Africa after a whirlwind tour.

Francis has planned a trip around the Cape Peninsula, stopping to see the famous penguins at Boulders beach, the Cape of Good Hope and Cape Point.

He also takes his group on an emotional visit to the Langa township and on the last day a selected few go on an early morning boat trip to tag some sharks.

Here's Edel taking a leap in last week's episode:

New to Download

The Innocents, from Friday, Netflix

Runaway teen lovers June and Harry find themselves swept up in a dangerous and confusing new world when June begins to display mysterious abilities.

The cast includes Sorcha Groundsell and Percelle Ascott in the lead roles of June McDaniel and Harry Polk, as well as Guy Pearce, who was once a teenage star when he played Mike Young in Neighbours back in the 1980s.

Don't Miss

Bodyguard, 9.00pm Sunday, BBC One

Here's the pick of the new shows this weekend. Richard Madden and Keeley Hawes star in Bodyguard, a new thriller from the makers of the brilliant Line of Duty.

Set in and around the corridors of power, it tells the fictional story of David Budd (Madden), a heroic but volatile war veteran now working as a Specialist Protection Officer for the Royalty and Specialist Protection Branch (RaSP) of London's Metropolitan Police Service.

When he is assigned to protect the ambitious and powerful Home Secretary Julia Montague (Hawes), Budd finds himself torn between his duty and his beliefs. Responsible for her safety, could he become her biggest threat?

The six-part series also stars Gina McKee, Sophie Rundle, Pippa Haywood, Stuart Bowman, Vincent Franklin, Ash Tandon, and Nina Toussaint-White.

Weekend Movies

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, from Friday, August Sky Cinema

A ragtag, Breakfast Club-style group of youngsters - self-obsessed social media princess, football-playing jock, bookish loner and jumpy, video game-loving nerd - discover a dusty old console and cartridge while stuck in detention.

Of course, firing them up transports our unlikely heroes to the dangerous jungles of Jumanji, where survival means getting comfortable with their newly acquired avatars.

They include adventurer Dr Smolder Bravestone (Dwayne Johnson) and his sidekick Franklin 'Mouse' Finbar (Kevin Hart), plus middle-aged map-reader Shelly Oberon (Jack Black) and ass-kicking Ruby Roundhouse (Karen Gillan).

The Browning Version, 9.35pm Saturday, TG4

Albert Finney stars in this excellent remake of the 1951 film, itself based on the 1948 play of the same name by Terence Rattigan.

Andrew Crocker-Harris (Finney) is a veteran teacher at a British public school, disliked by all, including his much-younger wife.

Box Set Binge

Ray Donovan seasons 1-5, from Friday, Sky Box Sets

Much like Ray himself, this top US drama might have gone slightly under the radar, but gets the job done every time.

The multi-award-winning drama stars Liev Schreiber as the eponymous Ray, a fixer who - by any means necessary - makes problems disappear for Hollywood's richest and most powerful.

As well as Schreiber, the series boasts a great cast including Jon Voight, Paula Malcomson, Eddie Marsan, James Woods, Katie Holmes, Ian McShane and Elliott Gould.
