Alan Cumming stars in a new police drama called Instinct, Mick Peelo investigates in Living with the Pope, and CelebrityMasterChef is back . . .

Pick of the day

Instinct, 9.00pm, Sky Witness & TV NOW

This looks like fun. It's an 'odd couple' police drama based on the James Patterson novel Murder Games, and starring the incomparable Alan Cumming, late of The Good Wife.

Cumming stars as Dr Dylan Reinhart, a former CIA operative turned university professor and author, happily enjoying a quiet life. This all changes when NYPD detective Lizzie Needham (Bojana Novakovic) informs him that a serial killer appears to be using his first crime novel as a tutorial for a murder spree.

Compelled by the case, Dylan is lured back into his old life, and while he and Lizzie aren’t obvious partners, they find when it comes to catching killers, they just need to trust their instincts.

This one-off documentary goes behind the scenes as the UK's biggest theme park attempts to win back visitors with the launch of their multi-million pound new roller coaster, Wicker Man - the first new ride at the park since the crash.

In this first episode, he confronts death and wonders if people are in danger of forgetting how to mark and commemorate the deaths of the people they love.
