Renee Zellweger has landed a role in a 10-part Netflix drama called What/If, from Mike Kelley, the writer of drama series Revenge.
The actress is best known for her eponymous role in the Bridget Jones films. She won an Oscar for her role in the 2003 film Cold Mountain and other notable films include Chicago, Jerry Maguire and Empire Records.
Netflix describe the new series as a social thriller which "explores the ripple effects of what happens when acceptable people start doing unacceptable things."
The show explores the effects of well-intentioned individuals who make poor judgments and act in morally feeble ways.
"Each season will tackle a different morality tale inspired by culturally consequential source material, and the power of a single, fateful decision to change the trajectory of an entire life," declares the Netflix publicity.
49- year-old Zellweger will play the role of Anne in the series. She will soon be seen as Judy Garland in a much-anticipated biopic of the iconic legend of Hollywood musicals. However, Liza Minnelli, daughter of Judy Garland, does not approve.
