Tributes paid to Irish guitarist Greg Boland

Many tributes have been paid to guitarist Greg Boland - best known for his work with the band Scullion - whose death was announced on Friday.

One of the most accomplished and admired guitarists in Irish music, Greg Boland's career saw him also play with Bono, Christy Moore, Mary Coughlan, Carole King and Steve Winwood, among many others.

His own bands also included Stagalee, Curve and the much-loved Steely Dan tribute act, Aja.

Paying tribute, Hot Press Editor Niall Stokes described Greg Boland as "a really special guitar player" who has "left a powerful legacy".
