11 years after the first Simpsons movie, a new big screen adventure for the cartoon family is being planned - meanwhile, Family Guy is due to make its cinema debut.
The Wall Street Journal confirmed the news about the Simpsons sequel on Monday, reporting: "[20th Century Fox CEO Stacey Snider] Snider has emphasised a revamp of Fox's approach to animation, bringing in a new partner to replace an expired deal with DreamWorks Animation after it was acquired by Comcast Corp.

"The film studio is partnering with the Fox television studio on a big-screen adaptation of the animated series Bob's Burgers, a second Simpsons movie in development, and a Family Guy film that would mix animation with live action, said people with knowledge of the projects."
2007’s The Simpsons Movie was a commercial and critical success and earned over $500m at the box office.
Meanwhile, details have emerged of a Family Guy movie, which will combine animation and live-action
The movie is reported to be currently in development and may be similar to creator Seth MacFarlane’s Ted movies, which saw a foul-mouthed teddy bear come to life.

Movie website Screenrant says that all the key cast members should be returning for the film, including MacFarlane himself who voices Peter Griffin, Brian, Stewie and many more on Family Guy.
Also reported to be lined up for the big screen adaptation are Alex Borstein, who voices Lois Griffin, Mila Kunis (Meg Griffin), Seth Green (Chris Griffin), Mike Henry (Cleveland Brown) and Patrick Warburton (Joe Swanson).
A Simpsons/Family Guy crossover episode aired on Fox in 2014.
