Coronation Street actress Sally Ann Matthews, who plays Jenny Bradley in the soap, says her character will "boss it" as the new landlady of the iconic Rovers Return.
In scenes to air next week, the battle for the Rovers will take an unexpected turn when Johnny and Jenny buy the pub from under the noses of Gemma and Henry.
Matthews says that Johnny and Jenny decide to buy the Rovers because they're at a loose end as they're not going to Spain and need something to do apart from the factory.

Johnny thinks taking control of the pub could be the perfect decision and loyal Jenny decides to go along with his plan, despite her reservations.
"Jenny is not up for this", the actress explained. "Firstly she was supposed to be queen of the factory, secondly she was supposed to be swanning it up in Spain with the villa, the swimming pool and the beach-pine table but suddenly she is going to be working in a poxy backstreet boozer... not what she had in mind for herself.
"But she recognises that Johnny needs this to take his mind of Aidan and her heart belongs to Johnny Connor so she will do whatever makes him happy."
After a quick sulk, Jenny comes around to the idea and "goes for it big style". Matthews thinks Jenny will comfortably adapt to her new role as landlady.
"I think she will be incredibly capable because she became an expert seamstress overnight and when she sets her mind to it she can achieve anything", Matthews said.
"She wants this and a lot of people wanted her to fail when she first came back to the street so she is not about to look foolish in front of anybody. She will boss it and take no nonsense. "
However, Johnny and Jenny taking over the Rovers could spell trouble for their already shaky marriage due to Johnny's previous fling with barmaid Liz.
When she shows them around the pub, Jenny tells Liz she's grateful to have her on board, leaving the pair to exchange awkward looks...Could their romantic liaison be exposed?

Soap star Matthews thinks Jenny is "ready to move forward" in her relationship with Johnny after they buy the pub.
She said: "Jenny is going in to it certainly with the intention that it is what Johnny needs and it would be good for their relationship to help heal from what has happened. She is able to understand and forgive all of Johnny’s behaviour because of his grief.
"She’s not delusional or naive but she is ready to move forward."
Coronation Street airs on Monday, Wednesday and Friday on TV3 and UTV.
