EastEnders original cast member Leonard Fenton is set to make his Albert Square comeback as Doctor Harold Legg.
Fenton appeared in the very first episode of the soap over 30 years ago, with Doctor Legg serving as Walford's local GP until 1997.
During his time on EastEnders Doctor Legg struck a close bond with Dot, played by June Brown, as he entertained her hypochondria, ailments and questions, always putting her at ease.

Speaking about his return to the Square, Fenton said: "I am very happy to be back at EastEnders and am looking forward to working with June and the rest of the cast and crew again."
Brown said it will be an "utter delight" to share screen time with Fenton again.

Since his departure from the show, Doctor Legg returned for key moments such as Mark's funeral and Ethel's funeral, and he also appeared in 2007 when Dot needed his help.
EastEnders Executive Consultant, John Yorke, said of Fenton's return, "It’s a huge honour to have Leonard back in the show and to see him and June working together again for an exciting and emotional story."

Fenton has started filming, with his comeback set to air in the autumn.
EastEnders continues on RTÉ One on Thursday at 7.30pm.
