New or Returning Shows

White Famous, 11.05pm, Sky Atlantic

Here's a comedy from Showtime starring Jay Pharoah, which is based on the life of Jamie Foxx.

It was co-created by Tom Kapinos, Chris Spencer and Buddy Lewis, directed by Tim Story and Foxx, who will also be a recurring guest star.

Set in the same universe as Kapinos's previous show, the David Duchovny-starring Californication, it features some secondary characters from that series, and follows a talented, young African-American comedian called Floyd Mooney as he tries to maintain credibility while seeking success.

White Famous only last a season – but it's got to be worth a look.

Mr Robot, 10.30pm, TG4

Season three of this trippy-paranoid drama continues and on the night of the planned hack, Mr Robot tries to shoot Tyrell, but the gun jams. Tyrell then convinces Mr Robot he needs him for Stage 2.

Irving and the Dark Army appear, stating Gideon told the FBI that Tyrell shut down the honeypot, making him the prime suspect of the hack. They take Tyrell to a cabin in a secluded area, where the psych evaluation breaks him.
