Emily Watson and Dominic West star in Appropriate Adult, Love Island pops up in Australia, and there's a documentary about Jackie O and her lesser-known sister . . .
Pick of the day
Appropriate Adult, 9.00pm, TV3
If you didn't see it when it was originally shown on ITV, don't miss this two-part drama that offers a riveting-if-terrifying glimpse into the lives of English serial killer Fred West and his wife Rosemary West.
It stars the unrelated Dominic West - who is scarily impressive as Fred West - Janet Leach as Rosemary West, and Emily Watson as the 'appropriate adult' present during the questioning of Fred West.
After West confesses to killing his daughter, it becomes increasingly obvious to the investigators that the West residence has been the scene of several unspeakable acts, an horrendous house of horrors.
West and Watson both won BAFTAs for their performances.
New or Returning Shows
Love Island: Australia, 10.05pm, 3e
Even though the UK version of Love Island isn't over, there's nothing for it but to head to the other side of the world to sample the Antipodean version of the hit reality show. Ironically, the location this time is Spain's Mallorca.
Here, ten hot Australian singletons are all hoping to find ‘the one’ in the villa. Host, Sophie Monk, will be on hand as the islander’s couple-up for the first time.
Our own Eoghan McDermott provides the voice of the show.
How to Get Rich Quick, 8.30pm, Channel 4
Yet another TV show perpetuating the myth that the human race is divided into two groups: eager entrepreneurs and lazy losers.
Dave Fishwick, the creator of Bank of Dave, helps ordinary people to 'get rich quick' by giving them the tools to make their money grow and double their investment pot in just a few months.
In this opening episode, council worker Tahira wants to double her £1000 savings by running food stalls in her spare time, with the help of her mother and sisters.
Jackie: A Tale of Two Sisters, 10.40pm, RTÉ One
Jackie Kennedy Onassis remains to this day a hugely iconic figure, a blend of of high fashion and huge tragedy, whose first husband was assassinated US President John F Kennedy. Her sister Lee Radziwill is considerably less well-known.
English actress Rachel Stirling narrates this documentary about the two of them, and how their lives were intertwined - through rivalry and resentment, love and loss.
Don't Miss
Sharp Objects, 10.00pm, Sky Atlantic
This is definitely a grower. After a so-so opener, the Amy Adams-starring drama is starting to grip, even though the overused flashback approach to storytelling has become rather clichéd at this juncture.
In this week's episode, the third of eight, Adams' alcoholic, self-abusing journalist Camille relives a recent tragedy as she struggles to piece together the murders in Wind Gap.
Elsewhere, Richard grows frustrated with Chief Vickery’s assumptions regarding potential suspects, and a defiant Amma shows off her wild side to Camille. Meanwhile, their mother Adora continues to admonish Camille for meddling in the investigation and unsettling a town in mourning.
