Dublin-born actor Derrick O'Connor, who starred in a wide range of movies and TV shows, has died at the age of 77.
He is best-known for playing Pieter Vorstedt, one of the villains in Lethal Weapon 2. He also appeared in Murder, She Wrote, The Sweeney, and Monk.
The Hollywood Reporter says that O’Connor passed away last Friday after battling pneumonia, according to his publicist.
The Dubliner was a frequent collaborator with Monty Python’s Terry Gilliam in the 1970s and 1980s, and starred in Gilliam’s movies Time Bandits, Jabberwocky, and Brazil.
O’Connor also starred as Thomas Aquinas in the 1999 Arnold Schwarzenegger movie End of Days, Father Everett in 2003's Daredevil in 2003, and also in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest.
He made frequent appearances in TV shows such as Alias, Carnivale, Stringer, and Knockback.
O'Connor relocated to California in the 1990s and is survived by his wife Mimi and their son Max. A private celebration of his life is set to take place in San Francisco.
