It's hello and goodbye to US cop shows as Blue Bloods bows out and Shades of Blue returns - meanwhile Bride & Prejudice comes to an end, as does the Round of 16 of this year's World Cup . . .

Pick of the Day

Blue Bloods, 10.35pm, RTÉ One

It's the season eight finale in this popular, if self-righteous law and order procedural featuring Tom Selleck, Donnie Wahlberg and Bridget Moynahan as a multi-generational family of New York cops.

When a series of drive-by murders occur after six wrongly convicted men are released from prison, Danny and Baez wonder if they were orchestrated by the men as an act of revenge.

Also, Frank combats the guilt he feels about these innocent men unfairly serving nine years in prison, and Jamie and Eddie find themselves in a life-threatening situation.

New or Returning Shows

Shades of Blue, 9.00pm, Sky Living & NOW TV

This frankly farcical cop show returns for a third and final season with Jennifer Lopez reprising her role as Harlee Santos, a single-mother NYPD detective who is forced to work for the FBI's anti-corruption task force, while dealing with her personal problems - all without a single hair looking out of place.

Ray Liotta co-stars as corrupt cop Matt Wozniak and, as Harlee and Wozniak continue to deal with the trauma from their near-death experience at the end of season two, they encounter a grisly crime scene that launches a new mystery.

Rebel Pope, 11.30pm, RTÉ One

Given that the head of the Roman Catholic Church will soon be visiting Ireland, here's a timely look at the Argentine Pontiff.

For many millions of followers, Pope Francis a fascinating figure with an incredible back story that hasn't been told in full - until now, apparently. Rebel Pope promises the definitive story of his rise to power.

Ending Tonight

Bride & Prejudice, 9.00pm, Channel 4

This reality show has been a bit of a revelation and much more empathetic and sensitive than the freak show I'd expected.

In Warrenpoint, 20-year-old Shane is planning to propose to his 37-year-old girlfriend Elaine. Elaine's family are opposed to the relationship due to the 17-year age gap.

In the face of family objections, the couple throw an engagement party in the hope of winning over the doubters.

Meanwhile, in south London, Junior - raised in a devout Christian family - hopes to convert to Islam in order to marry his girlfriend Sobiah, who's Muslim.

Also: in Aldershot, it's the day of 20-year-old Chloe and 21-year-old Jack's wedding. Not everyone's pleased.

Good Girls, Netflix

Three suburban mothers orchestrate a local grocery store heist to escape financial ruin and establish independence together.

The impressive cast in this dramedy includes former Mad Men star Christina Hendricks, Retta from Parks and Recreation, and Parenthood's Mae Whitman in the lead roles.

Deffo worth a look if the trailer's anything to go by:

Don't Miss

Nashville, 10.40pm, TG4

The sixth and final season of this enjoyable soap set in the home of country music continues as a visitor from the past comes into Deacon's life - his father, a very unpleasant surprise.

With Alannah out of the picture, the band flounders and the guys have to consider whether it's worth continuing. To add to the complications, Brad makes inappropriate advances toward Alannah, and she confides in Avery.

Meanwhile, Sean's wife becomes jealous of how close he and Scarlett have become.
