Comedian Michael McIntyre has announced that his Big Show will be back on BBC One in the autumn for its longest run to date.

McIntyre will host eight shows of mischief, music and more, with the BBC promising that the audience will play a bigger part in the new series, which will be recorded at London's Theatre Royal, Drury Lane.

"Every series gets bigger and better and series four will be our most ambitious yet," said McIntyre.

"There will be new audience surprises as well as returning favourites such as Send to All, the Midnight Gameshow and some extraordinary stunts for the Unexpected Star of the Show. I can't wait!"

McIntyre celebrated his highest Big Show ratings to date for series three, with an average of 6.9m viewers in the UK.
