The great Olivia Colman's back with more Flowers, there's a documentary about former rugby player Tommy Bowe, and another on last year's Grenfell Tower disaster in London.

Pick of the day

Flowers, 10.00pm, Channel 4

This critically-acclaimed and considerably crackers comedy-drama returns for a second run - a good two years after the first.

Will Sharpe's darkly imaginative series sees the return of the well-meaning Deborah (Olivia Colman), her depressive husband Maurice (Julian Barratt), their maladjusted adult twin children Amy (Sophia Di Martino), as well as Donald (Daniel Rigby) and the rest of the dysfunctional ensemble.

In the first episode of this opening double bill, it's a couple of years after the end of season one, and Maurice and Deborah are on a caravan holiday. Maurice is on medication and seems in a better place, while Deborah is about to become the published author of a book about his depression.

By the way, episodes 3-6 play across the week Tuesday-Friday at 10pm, and you can catch the complete first season on All4.

One of Us, 10.35pm, RTÉ One

Juliet Stevenson heads the cast in this good-but-grim BBC drama about a double murder that shocks two families living in isolated rural Scotland.

Black Work, 9.00pm, TV3

An ITV mini-series from 2015, this is well worth a watch just for the fact that it stars the always excellent Sheridan Smith. It's no Line of Duty though.

Smith stars as police officer Jo Gillespie, dissatisfied that her husband and fellow police officer Ryan, like herself a police officer, spend so much time away from her and their children. However, she resists colleague Jack Clark's suggestion that she leave Ryan for him.

She is doubly shocked to be told not only that Ryan has been shot dead but had been working undercover - doing 'black work' - for three years without her knowledge.
