It is reported that reality TV star Kim Kardashian West is due to meet US President Donald Trump at the White House to discuss penal reform and the case of a great-grandmother who is serving a life sentence for a first offence.

Celebrity website TMZ reports that Kardashian West and her attorney Shawn Holley are to meet President Trump in a bid to obtain a presidential pardon for 62-year-old Alice Marie Johnson, who is serving life without parole in the US state of Alabama.

Johnson was sentenced to life without parole in 1997 for money laundering and drugs conspiracy charges. Kardashian West has drawn attention to the case, and others, on social media.

Kardashian West has already held discussions with President Trump's daughter, Ivanka, and her husband, Jared Kushner about the Johnson case.
