Following a series of recent low key gigs around Ireland, Snow Patrol will play dates in Belfast and Dublin this December as part of a tour for their new album Wildness.

The band will play The SSE Arena on December 7 and 3Arena on December 11 with tickets going on sale on Friday, June 8 at 9.00am through usual Ticketmaster outlets.

They are headlining eight venues in total in Ireland and the UK throughout December and January.

The band's new record Wildness is their first in seven years.

Singer and songwriter Gary Lightbody said of the album: "There are many types of wildness, but I think it can be distilled into two: the wildness of the modern age, all its confusion, illogic and alienation and a more ancient wildness.

"Something primal, alive and beautiful that speaks to our true connectivity, our passion, our love, our communion with nature and each other. This is the kind of wildness the album is centered around. The loss of it. Trying to reconnect with it. To remember it."

The band has released new music videos for album tracks A Youth Written in Fire, Life and Death, Wild Horses and A Dark Switch.
