Coronation Street running in later time slot this week

Pat Phelan makes a dramatic return on Coronation Street – but fans should be warned that the Granada soap will be on much later than usual this week.

The long-running show is usually broadcast at 7.30pm but due to the Britain’s Got Talent semi-final shows, the soap will be shown on TV3 at 9pm every night, Monday to Friday for half an hour.

The talent contest’s result programme will then get an airing after each episode of Coronation Street.

Britain's Got Talent runs all week

The later scheduling means that Corrie will be screened in a post-watershed time slot, meaning things could turn really dark in Weatherfield with Phelan about and up to no good.

Gary Windass (played by Mikey North) goes in search of Phelan (Connor McIntyre) and brings him back to the cobbles, although the Liverpudlian is ready to put up a fight.

According to Mikey North, "Gary has messed up again. He had the best of intentions, but it’s all wrong. Gary’s a nice guy deep down, but he’s just a bit of an idiot.

"He doesn’t think of the consequences of his actions, but this is the worst thing he’s ever done."
