Rick Astley has admitted that he’s turned down an offer to take part in Strictly Come Dancing.

The 1980s' pop star - who shot to fame singing Never Gonna Give You Up - admitted that he didn’t want to let fans down with his dance moves because he’s not 'fit enough' for the dance floor.

He told The Mirror: "I have been asked to go on it. But I wouldn’t want to compete on it. I’m not fit enough. [Athlete] Greg Rutherford said they practice every hour of the day. I couldn’t do it."

The 52-year-old added: "I sang on it and they had a bit of a party after Blackpool, a bit of a shindig with everyone dancing.

"All the professional dancers are amazing and we’re there doing dad dancing. One of the dancers said I had moves and should come on the show. But I don’t think I could do it, if I’m honest. Not really."

Here's Rick throwing a few shapes back in the day:
