Elton John says his retirement is "not a publicity stunt" and admits he really is "saying goodbye".
Earlier this year the 71-year-old singer announced that he will retire from touring after his upcoming 300-date Farewell Yellow Brick Road world tour, which he said could take up to three years to complete.
Speaking on Good Morning Britain on Tuesday, the Tiny Dancer singer insisted his final tour isn't a marketing ploy and he vowed that he has had enough of life on the road.
"I'm looking forward to saying goodbye – and it's not a publicity stunt because I really am saying goodbye. I've had enough."

John went on to explain that he is looking forward to spending more time with his husband David Furnish and their two sons, Zachary and Elijah.
"They're so funny – they're great kids, they keep us amused, that's why I'm coming off the road after this world tour," he added. "I need to be there for them and I need to spend that time with them.
"I miss them so much when I'm not with them."
The Candle in the Wind hitmaker made it clear that while he's quitting touring, he isn't leaving work altogether.
"I think people like to do voice-overs in movies. It's fun. I would love to do something with animated movies."

Elton John is set to play Dublin's 3Arena on June 12 and 13, 2019 as part of his epic three-year final Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.
Sherlock Gnomes hits cinemas nationwide on May 11.
