S Club 7 singer Hannah Spearritt is set to make a return to EastEnders after impressing producers while appearing in a couple of episodes in December.

The 37-year-old star made her Albert Square debut as Karen Taylor's younger sister Kandice and she is set to return to the soap later this year for another stint.

Hannah Spearritt confirmed her return by posting on Twitter that it was "Back to Walford for me."

Should her next appearance go as well as her first, Spearritt could reportedly be made a more permanent fixture on the long-running BBC soap.

"Bosses were really impressed with Hannah's talent and energy," The Sun quote a source as saying.

"She went down well with fans and created a great buzz around the show. She has a positive, hard-working attitude, which was infectious."

"If she continues to prove popular, she could be a more permanent fixture. Plus her chemistry with the other actors works really well," they added.

Speaking ahead of filming her scenes last year, Spearritt said she was "over the moon" to become a part of the show.

The singer turned actress has previously starred as time-travelling zookeeper Abby Maitland in Primeval and, more recently, as Mercedes Christie in Casualty.

EastEnders next airs on RTÉ One on Thursday night at 7.30pm.
