Irish actors Sharon Horgan, Sinéad Keenan and Brían F O'Byrne are among the nominees for this year's BAFTA Television Awards in the UK.

Catastrophe star and co-creator Horgan is nominated in the Best Comedy Actress category, with the show also shortlisted for Best Comedy.

Horgan's fellow nominees for Female Performance in a Comedy Programme are: Daisy May Cooper (This Country), Sian Gibson (Peter Kay's Car Share) and Anna Maxwell Martin (Motherland).

Keenan is nominated for Best Actress for her performance in the factual drama Little Boy Blue alongside Claire Foy (The Crown), Thandie Newton (Line of Duty) and Molly Windsor (Three Girls).

Keenan's Little Boy Blue co-star Brían F O'Byrne is shortlisted for Best Supporting Actor alongside another Irish actor, Line of Duty's Adrian Dunbar, with Anupam Kher (The Boy with the Topknot) and Jimmi Simpson (USS Callister - Black Mirror) completing the shortlist.

The Cillian Murphy-starring Peaky Blinders is nominated for Best Drama alongside The CrownThe End of the F###Ing World and Line of Duty, but the Cork actor did not make the Best Actor shortlist.

The Best Actor nominees are: Jack Rowan (Born to Kill), Joe Cole (Hang the DJ - Black Mirror), Sean Bean (Broken) and Tim Pigott-Smith (King Charles III).

Murphy's fellow Corkman Graham Norton is shortlisted for Best Entertainment Performance for The Graham Norton Show.

The International nominees are: Big Little Lies, Feud: Bette and Joan, The Handmaid's Tale and The Vietnam War

Black Mirror, The Crown, Line of Duty and Three Girls lead the nominees with three nods apiece.

Casualty, Coronation Street, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks are nominated for Best Soap & Continuing Drama. 

EastEnders, Strictly Come Dancing and The Great British Bake Off all missed out on nominations. 

The winners will be announced in London on Sunday May 13 with Sue Perkins as the host on the night.
