Former Game of Thrones actor Ricky Champ has joined the cast of EastEnders to play the role of Stuart Highway, the older brother of Halfway.

Born and bred in the East End of London, Stuart is a childhood friend of Mick Carter’s and turns up in the Square following Halfway’s return from duty.

Mick is pleased to see his old friend but Stuart’s arrival could soon spell trouble for Mick as the two channel their younger selves and get up to no good. Often a bad influence on Mick, how will Stuart’s arrival go down with the rest of the family?

On joining EastEnders, Champ, whose CV also includes BBC Three sitcom Him & Her, said: "I’m so happy to be part of this brilliant team of people on this great show that I grew up watching. Look out Albert Square … Stuart’s coming!"

The news comes after it was previously announced that Tony Clay will be reprising his role as Callum 'Halfway' Highway.

Champ has started filming as Stuart and will be seen on screen later this spring.

Here's Ricky Champ as Paul Parker in Him & Her. He's the one going nuts.
