Following months of speculation, Trainspotting director Danny Boyle looks like he has confirmed that he will be writing and directing the new James Bond movie.

Speaking to Metro US at a New York screening of his new FX show Trust on Wednesday night, Boyle said he was currently working on a script for a new Richard Curtis film and would then turn his attention to the 25th Bond movie.

"We are working on a script right now," he said. "And it all depends on that really. I am working on a Richard Curtis script at the moment. We hope to start shooting that in 6 or 7 weeks. Then Bond would be right at the end of the year. But we are working on them both right now."

Daniel Craig is said to be reprising his role as Bond for the last time

However, there has been no confirmation of Boyle's involvement from Bonb producers, MGM and Eon Productions.

Boyle's regular collaborator John Hodge is co-writing the screenplay and the pair have previously worked together on TrainspottingT2: Trainspotting and The Beach.
