Friday night's double bill of Coronation Street had viewers on the edge of their seats as Phelan confronted his daughter Nicola, with some fans even professing to feel sorry for the evil builder.
Pat Phelan figured out that Nicola Rubenstein was secretly plotting to prove he's a killer when he discovered Seb Franklin was hiding in her apartment earlier this week.
The devious builder realised that Nicola, her boyfriend Gary Windass and Seb had joined forces to try and bring him down, and he was far from happy.

Phelan confronted Gary at the building site and told him he knew they were trying to set him up. Gary tried to deny it, but Phelan wasn't to be convinced.
Phelan demanded that they back off, and when Gary said even Phelan wouldn't harm his own family, the builder replied ominously: "Oh you’d be surprised by what I’m capable of."
After sacking Gary from the building site, the duo got word that Nicola, who is pregnant with Gary's baby, had suffered a health scare and was in hospital.
Phelan and Gary rushed in to meet her, and once Nicola was out of danger, she and her father had a tense showdown where he revealed he knew she was hiding Seb and secretly gathering evidence against him.

Manipulative Phelan ended up flipping the whole conversation, insisting to Nicola that he's innocent and telling her he never wants to see her again.
Later back at home, Phelan's unknowing wife Eileen is furious about Nicola's betrayal and Phelan ominously says they could "all go to hell".

Now that the jig is up for Nicola, Gary and Seb, what could this mean for Phelan? And is Eileen in more danger than ever from her homicidal husband?
The Phelan drama had viewers at the edge of their seats on Friday night. Some fans even admitted to feeling a little bit sorry for Phelan when he got a bit teary-eyed.

Phelan is one incredibly layered character. Never in soap history have I seen a villain that can emote so much and make the audience feel bad for him while simultaneously detesting him. What an actor! @connor9mcintyre #corrie
